Acrostic Poem Challenge

At the retreat I recently attended I met a woman who has an intriguing daily practice.  She picks any word that comes to her mind, then writes it vertically down a page. Then she writes an acrostic poem about that word. It seems like a good way to jump start a daily writing practice.  Just pick any word that has meaning for you – and let the letters suggest a poem.  I’ve enjoyed doing it and have taken up the challenge from this friend to do this daily for a year.  Would you join me?  Don't agonize ovefrit -- just see it as a word game. E  ach day offers us what is

 

N  eeded to sustain

 

O  ur beautiful life.  Stand

 

U  nder these blessings.  Be

 

G  rateful for what you

 

H  ave.  Enough is enough.

 

 

         C  louds are always difficult for me –

           

L  ike being in a room with low ceilings.

 

O  h how I long to have the

 

U pper hand on allowing my feelings to not be

 

D  ependent on such fickle things as the weather.

Give Me A Word
